The search for the next winners of The Earthshot Prize 2025 has begun and PCAI is proud to be an Official Nominator of this significant environmental award for the fourth consecutive year.
The Earthshot Prize is a prestigious global environmental prize and platform for impact, dedicated to finding and growing solutions that will repair our planet this decade. As an Official Nominator, PCAI is invited to submit nominations across five Earthshot categories. We will be nominating individuals, communities, businesses and organizations whose solutions make the most progress towards achieving simple but ambitious goals which if achieved by 2030 will improve life for us all, and for generations to come. The Earthshot Prize will consider solutions which make tangible progress towards one of the five Earthshots. They should be beyond idea stage, have tested their solution in-field or with target audiences, and are at a ‘tipping point’ for scaling their impact within the next five years. The Earthshots are:
1. Protect and Restore Nature
2. Clean our Air
3. Revive our Oceans
4. Build a Waste-Free World
5. Fix our Climate
After nominations are submitted by nominators, they are screened as part of a rigorous assessment process culminating in the selection of five winners by Prince William and the Earthshot Prize Council. The Earthshot Prize awards one million pounds each to the 5 winners, whereas all 15 finalists will enter The Earthshot Fellowship Programme for a year of dedicated support. Finalists and winners are given an incredible platform to amplify their work, as well as tailored support from The Earthshot Prize and its network of NGOs, businesses, governments, funders and expert mentors.
If you have a solution that is inspiring, inclusive and impactful, you may fill in the Entry Form. PCAI will consider nominating solutions which are well aligned to its own area of operation and expertise, and will accept proposals until November 20, 2024, to allow time for a review process. More about the Earthshot Prize
“The natural world on which we entirely depend is declining at a rate faster than at any time since the end of the dinosaurs. We know where this story is heading, and we must now write a different ending. This is what The Earthshot Prize was created to achieve.”
Sir David Attenborough
Launched by Prince William and The Royal Foundation in October 2020, The Earthshot Prize is the most prestigious global environment prize in history, designed to incentivise change and help repair our planet over the next ten years. The Prize aims to turn the current pessimism surrounding environmental issues into optimism, by highlighting the ability of human ingenuity to bring about change, and inspiring collective action.
Taking inspiration from President John F. Kennedy’s Moonshot which united millions of people around an organising goal to put man on the moon and catalysed the development of new technology in the 1960s, The Earthshot Prize is centred around five ‘Earthshots’ – simple but ambitious goals for our planet which if achieved by 2030 will improve life for us all, for generations to come. The Earthshot Prize will award one million pounds to each of five annual winners whose solutions make the most progress towards our five Earthshots.
