PCAI COLLECTION ARTIST Rindon Johnson

AT Paris Interational

PCAI is happy to announce the participation of PCAI collection artist Rindon Johnson in Paris Interational with Cibrián.

At Cibrián booth were presented works of Rindon Johnson and Victor Ruiz Colomer from October 19 to October 24, 2027.

Both artists draw on materials from larger technological, institutional, and architectural systems, bringing them into relation with one another. In doing so, they examine how such systems operate and how they might be disrupted.

Rindon Johnson (b. 1990, USA) is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice is grounded in language. Johnson presents zinc and cobalt paintings on leather, considering these minerals as materials that may become obsolete with the emergence of new forms of computing. Foregrounding the environmental and cultural destruction caused by extraction, Johnson applies the minerals using brooms and squeegees, connecting extraction and obsolescence with gestures of care and maintenance.

Rindon Johnson, artwork:
Blue sky scraped thin over a bare wall. Eggs become chicks, chicks become hens, hens lay on top of eggs. It is not yet time to attend to the thirty-two bases. The rules are discovered, not invented, and the tap keeps dripping. The tail rotor yields a little of its purpose and we spin in place, facing back the way we came., 2026
