PCAI COLLECTION ARTIST DANAE STRATOU

at Megaron the Athens Concert Hall

PCAI is happy to announce that annexM presents a new site-specific exhibition of PCAI collection artist Danae Stratou at Megaron the Athens Concert Hall, from October 8th, 2026, until January 31st, 2027.

AFALES | NAVELS, curated by art historian Alia Tsagkari, is conceived specifically for the Service Yard. The exhibition explores the relationship between humanity and the natural environment through the interconnected notions of time, gravity, the movement of water, and the lunar cycle.

At its core are three large-scale installations: an elliptical disc of raw salt evoking the Moon’s orbit, a light-based sculptural installation of the Moon synchronised in real time with its lunar phases, and Breathe (2000), presented on loan from the permanent collection of EMST – the National Museum of Contemporary Art, Athens. The exhibition also features two sculptural translations of a pebble collected from Afales Beach on the island of Ithaca, realised respectively in resin and metal, together with a photographic installation dedicated to the Moon’s phases and a soundscape incorporating excerpts from Eleni Potaga’s poem Marvelous Pebble. The exhibition develops an intergenerational dialogue with Potaga’s Muse (2006), permanently installed in the Megaron Atrium.
