EARTHSHOT PRIZE 2022

the selection process continues

PCAI as an Official Nominator of The Earthshot Prize submitted nominations across all five Earthshot categories. All nominations have now entered a rigorous and independent screening process run by Deloitte, implementation partner of the project, to seek out the solutions that will become the 2022 Finalists. Nominations undergo multiple stages of assessments, during which nominees are directly asked to provide additional information over the coming weeks.

The 15 Finalists will be selected with the advice of an independent panel of experts who will be announced later this year, and the ultimate Winners are chosen by the esteemed Earthshot Prize Council. The 5 Winners (one per Earthshot) will be awarded at the 2022 Awards Ceremony later this year where they will receive a one-of-a-kind award and be granted 1 million pounds to scale their solution’s impact.

Through the five Earshots, Earthshot Prize seeks breakthrough emergent solutions that can repair and regenerate the planet, while nurturing the eco-innovators to grow their impact around the following main goals:

1. Protect and Restore Nature

2. Clean our Air

3. Revive our Oceans

4. Build a Waste-Free World

5. Fix our Climate

More about the Earthshot Prize

Launched by Prince William and The Royal Foundation in October 2020, The Earthshot Prize is the most prestigious global environment prize in history, designed to incentivise change and help repair our planet over the next ten years. The Prize aims to turn the current pessimism surrounding environmental issues into optimism, by highlighting the ability of human ingenuity to bring about change, and inspiring collective action. Taking inspiration from President John F. Kennedy’s Moonshot which united millions of people around an organising goal to put man on the moon and catalysed the development of new technology in the 1960s, The Earthshot Prize is centred around five ‘Earthshots’ – simple but ambitious goals for our planet which if achieved by 2030 will improve life for us all, for generations to come.
