PCAI was the creative supporter

of King Charles' birthday reception

Polygreen Culture and Art Initiative PCAI was a proud creative supporter of the Reception organised by the British Embassy in Greece, the British Council, and the British School at Athens in the Byzantine and Christian Museum in Athens on the occasion of King Charles’ birthday celebrations on June 17.

PCAI and British Council presented Ilias Madouros’ films capturing the Tilos artist residency and the works of Resolve, Hypercomf and the New Raw as well as Resolve’s new fanzine, outlining the collective’s creative collab with the children and the people of Tilos!

As part of the Just Go Zero Tilos powered by Polygreen project, PCAI launched the first PCAI Tilos Residency in 2022 with artists Hypercomf and designer duo The New Raw. The successful artist-in-residence programme continued in 2023, for the second consecutive year. PCAI in collaboration with the British Council, in the framework of the Circular Cultures (Making Matters) programme, invited the British interdisciplinary artist collective, RESOLVE. The artist collective was on the island of Tilos in October 2023, with the aim of exploring possible environmental solutions through the lens of artistic creativity and the means that art provides.

Since 2022, the course of the research and creation process of the artistic groups in Tilos has been captured by director Ilias Madouros. Madouros is a director and filmmaker with studies in Athens and Berlin. His work deals with the notions of time, cultures and people, and the way stories are weaved through their interaction. His Tilos films aim to explore and document how the principles of circular economy can inspire creativity, collaboration and regenerative thinking in architecture, design crafts, materials and urban design.
