Metamorphoses, a PCAI commission work by artist Efi Spyrou from the PCAI Collection, is traveling to Dubai on the occasion of the Expo Dubai 2020.

From February 24 to March 31, Metamorphoses will be presented at the Greek Pavilion, in Expo Dubai, in the context of a special event based on a concept that has developed organically over the years, inspired by Delos’s myths, light and eternal symbolism, triggered by UNESCO’s Year of Light 2015 and turned into reality in World Expo2020, in Dubai, through the cooperation of all stakeholders involved in its implementation. The event is co-organized by the Office of the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Greece H.E., the General Secretariat for International Economic Affairs, the General Secretariat for Greeks Abroad and Public Diplomacy, Enterprise Greece and the Municipality of Mykonos.

The sculptures of PCAI collection promote the notions of upcycling and reuse, as they are often manufactured with recyclable materials such as fluorescent light bulbs, batteries etc. The installation Metamorphoses by artist Efi Spyrou, a project created within this framework, which was created using saturated fluorescent lamps, has been also exhibited in the group show Plexus, in 2015, at the House of Cyprus – Cultural Centre of the Embassy of Cyprus in Athens.
