PCAI partners with the Municipal Theater of Piraeus with the 2nd and 21st Primary Schools of Piraeus on the occasion of its first educational programme in the city.
The programme is designed and implemented by visual artist and art educator Katerina Zacharopoulou and it is inspired by Jannis Kounellis, his relationship with the port of Piraeus and the references to ecology and the environment in his work. Visual artist Makis Faros is in charge of cinematography and documentation of the programme.
More about the MUNICIPAL THEATER OF PIRAEUS
The Municipal Theatre of Piraeus is a neoclassical building that was designed by architect Ioannis Lazarimos and was first established in April 9,1895. Its new, more modern operation began on Tuesday, October 22, 2013, when the astonishing and monumental building, after being “silent” for ten years, because of a complete and much needed restoration, opened up to the public and began operating with new plays. Since 2015, the artistic director of the Municipal Theatre of Piraeus is Nikos Diamantis.
